Chilli Con Carne Burgers

Chilli - BurgersAn easy dish to prerpare and very tasty!


½  onion, finely chopped
1 cloves garlic, finely chopped plus a little extra for the dip
¼ tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp tomato puree
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika powder
250g good quality beef mince
400g kidney beans, drained and rinsed and roughly chopped
Salt and pepper
½ carrot, grated
1 tbsp breadcrumbs
Handful of chives, chopped
100ml soured cream
Olive oil for frying
Flour for coating


  • Sweat the onion and the garlic in a little oil in a frying pan, then add the mince and brown over moderate heat. Leave to cool slightly.
  • Add the dried spices and herbs to the mixture add the tomato puree and the breadcrumbs and the roughly chopped beans.
  • Add some seasoning.
  • Shape in to 8 burgers and cover in a little flour.
  • Heat some oil in the pan and shallow fry until golden on each side. Mix the chives, a little garlic and soured cream together in a separate dish/ramekin.
