Our Latest Gadget

Monday, April 11th, 2011

Here at Pudding Pie we don’t have a lot of kitchen gadgets, as we believe it’s better to learn with equipment you will find in your own home. However, after visiting Alain & Michel Roux Jr in the kitchen at the Waterside Inn recently, we were so impressed by one piece of kit, we just had to have one.

A Thermomix TM31, it’s like a food processor on steroids! It grinds, whisks, weighs, cooks, steams, blends, crushes, kneads, grates we could go on and on.

What a piece of equipment, we wont be using it for everyday classes, but for our catering jobs, it will be invaluable.

A Very Exciting Weekend

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

What a weekend we have had! Besides a group of children going competly silent when I joked at a party that I was 21 (if only they knew how old I really was)….. We spent the weekend in the company of Michel Roux Jnr & Alain Roux at the 3 Michelin Stared Waterside Inn in Bray as they filmed for a new TV series.

We had a tour of their new £2m kitchen, a fantastic room with balcony overlooking the Thames and to top it all we were treated to loads of books and their taster menu, which included some of the best food ever.

How can we beat that, well we told Michel Roux that we would come and sample his 3 Michelin Star menu at Le Gavroche in London, so we better do it!

Still on a high, but back to work.

Busy Weekend!

Monday, February 28th, 2011

We have just finished one of our busiest weekends … we had school holiday cookery classes, after school cookery classes, and birthday parties one of which was for 21 kids.

The large birthday party saw 21 kids making their own pizza’s, garlic bread, chocolate chip cookies and decorated cupcakes.

Tonight we welcome back Winchester House school for their evening meal, it’s pretty hectic here!
