Delivering soup

This is our 9 year old daughter helping deliver soup, cakes and sandwiches to over 80 of our village’s more mature residents. This event was part of a local community programme aimed at bringing the children and adults closer together in the village. It was a great event and we were very proud of Ijanna for helping out. Her brother (13) also helped so well done to him as well, although he managed to dodge the camera!

Le Manoir

Just been to Le Manoir Aux Quat Saison.
It was fabulous. We both (Martin and I) had the taster menu. We were well looked after and it was very delicious…I feel inspired to try some new things in the kitchen. We are going to take the kids later this month, they will love it.
I’m sure we will also have a new update regarding the new premises soon. So exciting.

DofE Cookery Course

We have been amazed at the number of young people choosing to do Cookery as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

We are now fully booked on our courses going into the summer and will be opening up new dates to cope with the rush.

It’s great to see young people making an effort to do something constructive with their time, instead of sitting in-front of a computer game!

If you know any young people aged between 14 - 24 that may be interested in learning new skills, you can check out their website here.

Hot Weekend

According to weather forecasts, the coming weekend is going to be pretty hot! They don’t always get it right but lets hope they do this time, the Bank Holiday was a bit of a washout and it would be great to get some sunny weather whilst the kids are still on their half term.

Heston’s 80’s Feast

Heston's Feast

Heston’s back doing what he does best! Cooking up some really unusual dishes to test even the most daring of palettes.

When we visited The Fat Duck restaurant we were fed, snail porridge, breakfast for dessert cooked with liquid nitrogen and experienced some very strange sensations with food.

If you like something a bit unusual with cooking it’s worth a watch.

New Farm Shop Coming!

limes-farm

At the weekend we went to see the progress on the new Farm Shop at Farthinghoe. Run by a family who are passionate about keeping old farming traditions alive. They will be supplying home grown vegetables, their own reared meat, eggs, herbs, home-made jams and chutneys and there will be a lovely Tea Room to relax after all the shopping.

We will be using them for a lot of our fresh produce and wish them all the luck for their opening weekend. Visit the Limes Farm website here.

School Cookery

Just in case you thought we had disappeared, don’t worry !! we are OK…

It’s been so busy we have not had the chance to post any messages for a few days now. We have been cooking at a school every day for the past 2 weeks and at weekends running Kids Cookery Parties. Just a quick reminder that the dates for our School Holiday & Adult Cookery Courses are all now available until the end of the summer, don’t leave it to long to book as they are filling up quickly.
