Banbury Canal Day 2011

We will be at Banbury Canal Day on the 2nd October, if you would like to try some free samples, pick up some free recipes and have a chat, come along. We will be near the Mill Arts Centre, next to the Hook Norton beer tent.

We will be with the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership, so if you are an Oxfordshire resident you can pledge to the Love Food Hate Waste campaign and get a free recipe book!

Top Chef Lee Maycock coming to Pudding Pie

We are pleased to announce that Lee Maycock (England Football Team Chef) will be coming to Pudding Pie on the 6th October to run a Game Workshop.

The day that runs from 10am – 4.30pm will demonstrate how to prepare and cook seasonal game. After coffee and biscuits, you will have demos and discussions in preparing game followed by a buffet lunch in our private dining room.

In the afternoon you will enjoy a hands on cookery class in our teaching kitchen with Lee himself.

Places are £120 per person and are limited to a small group, so book early to avoid disappointment.

School Summer Holiday Classes

We have just posted the dates for our School Holiday Cookery Classes for children. These are already filling up, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Don’t forget if you live in the Middleton Cheney area we will be running weekly workshops on behalf of the Parish Council during the whole of August, check the village website for more details.

CBBC Junior Bake Off

Local Philly Heroes
Do you have a favourite Philly recipe for transforming everyday ingredients into a mouth-watering dish that the whole family loves? Then why not share it with the Nation!

Wanted YOUR recipe ideas.

A TV company are looking for ten deliciously quick and easy Philly recipes from ten home cooks. If you’re chosen to represent your region as the local Philly Champion, you could feature in their TV ads, on posters or online. Oh, and a cash reward of £1,000 for selected Champions makes it an even tastier proposition!

Entry Requirements:

The recipe needs to include Philadelphia as a key ingredient – it can be any variety. Max 30g per person.
It should include no more than about 6 different ingredients.
It should take no more than 30 minutes to make in total.
The cooking instructions should be no more than 5 easy steps.
Ideally, it should be ‘inspired’ by where you live in some way, for example using local ingredients, or a spin on a traditional local dish, or simply perfect for your region – simply tell us the story behind it.

Foodies Festival

If you are looking for something to do this coming weekend, why not head for Oxford. The Foodies Festival will be on from 28th – 30th August.

They will have plenty to do and see all involving food and ingredients. We were asked to be at the event to do some demo’s but unfortunately we are fully booked that weekend. If you decide to pop along we hope you have a good time.

Are you Britain’s best cooking family?  If so, the Hairy Bikers want YOU to take part in a new TV contest.

Any relations welcome – for example, cousins, daughters, uncles, in-laws.

“We are looking for families who have a genuine passion for food
and are able to demonstrate a signature dish that shows your ability and unique cooking style.  This is a contest for amateurs”.

Each team must consist of 3 people: either 3 adults, or 2 adults and one child (the child must be over 12 years). A maximum of one child per family may take part.
