About the Ingredients & Suppliers we use ..

Ingredients

All our ingredients are Organic, Fair Trade, Home Grown or the best locally available to us. We don’t use ingredients with any Sweeteners, Artificial Flavourings or Colourings. Ilja Harvey the founder of Pudding Pie Cookery School, is currently studying for a Diploma in Diets & Nutrition, so we perfectly understand the need to eat healthily.

We use Herbs from our own garden, we grow Strawberries and a whole range of vegetables and try to use them in our dishes wherever possible.

Growing

We do not use any pesticides whilst growing the vegetables, herbs, or fruit and they are grown from Organic seeds, in Organic Soil and nothing other than Organic Fertiliser or good old Chicken Manure is used on them.

Recycling

We are also conscious about our impact on the environment, which is why all our Flyer’s are printed on Eco Paper (from FSC Managed Forests), our Party Invites and Business Cards are made from 100% recycled material and they are all printed using water based or vegetable oil inks. We recycle all our waste either through Local Authority schemes or through our own Composting, even the bin bags we use to take away all the party rubbish are 100% Degradable and the Party Bags are 100% recyclable. All the disinfectants and Anti-Bacterial cleaners we use in our Cookery School Kitchen are environmentally friendly and we have been awarded the Food Agencies highest standard rating of 5 stars.

Supporting Campaigns

We feel it is important to know where all our food comes from. As a family, we want to be sure we are eating foods that are good for us and be certain they have come from a well managed source. We are also very keen to ensure we do not throw away food that is often considered unusable. We are therefore keen to support campaigns like Love Food Hate Waste & Chicken Out.

Suppliers

We try wherever possible to use local reputable suppliers. This way we can be sure of the origin of all our ingredients and packaging. Some of the suppliers we are happy to recommend are:

Wykham Farm Shop. Wykham Park Farm is a traditional, mixed family farm with Aberdeen Angus and Longhorn beef herds, a sheep flock, Gloucester Old Spot pigs, cereals, asparagus and assorted vegetable crops.

Shipton Mill. The home of the finest and widest variety of Speciality Flours.They mill a range of organic flour of exceptional quality, without haste and with scrupulous care. We use their Flour for all our baking, courses and parties.
